Carrara Venato Bathroom – Customer Pictures

Carrara Venato Shower

In the shower they chose Carrara Venato 3×6″ Honed for the walls with a 1×2″ Herringbone Picture frame (we have a choice of 24 Herringbone mosaics) around the shower unit using a 1×2″ Herringbone Honed inside that bordered with pencils.  A great look, nice and simple so elegant. With the 3×6″ costing just $7.00SF and the Herringbone $11.45SF and Pencil $9.95 Each the Venato collection with over 200 different products has something for everyone.  The trick with marble is what you are looking for and making sure before anything ships to you that the image you have in your mind matches what we are sending.  As we cannot read your mind – this is where we need to work together!

Let us help you. Include us in your plan, your look. We are here to help. If you are 100% OCD and nothing can be wrong “ever” then marble is probably not for you as every single tile has different veining and I would recommend a retailer that can Water Jet cut and pick through tiles to your specification (be prepared to part with $200 a Square Foot).  If you are 40% OCD and want a very specific look and people do this.  Then over order and pick through or email us.  Then we can discuss the costs involved in meeting your standards.  Some people are so specific, one customer for example needed 3,000SF of Nero Marquina, it needed white veining with no more than two white veins per tile and no thicker than 2mm.  We did it, but it was hugely expensive.  As you know, anything can be purchased, you can have any car you want, you just have to pay for it.

If you are like the rest of us and know that a Carrara bathroom can add $30,000 in equity to your home and yes, buying direct can save a fortune then you have found the right place.  We own the rights to this quarry, it is our product, it is exclusive trademarked brand and even then we do not mark it up like a regular company.  We keep the cost low.  We work with a no frills marketing strategy (so iPhone images and no marketing budget, word of mouth growth).  Operating on the lowest cost possible, (examining if anything can be improved all the time), investing everything into the quality of the product and keeping the price down.  We do this to the extreme, an example of this is our Brilliant Glass tile line, we do not even pay with terms (like everyone else), we pay with cash to keep the price as low as possible.  Cash is a great way to work it always ensures you are very well looked after.  As most businesses always need cash!  It also means you are not a debt risk to suppliers, you are therefore provided a better price, quicker shipping and better quality. This is then passed onto our customers. I know….. no debt, it is a strange concept (in a world of debt) but it is one of the ways we make this business work so well.  More of how we can do what we do is on our page of FAQ’s. #3 attempts to address the economics in more detail.

Carrara Venato 3x3 Hexagon

Not quite finished yet: Carrara Venato 3″ Hexagon Honed $11.75 a Square Foot used on this shower floor, customer order 16 sheets for this size area.  Always order 20% more, sometimes people order 30%, it depends what look you are trying to create.  Some customers take out Hexagon pieces and replace them.  Lay it out before installing. Create the perfect picture.  Then when finished please email us a picture.  All we see are boxes 😦

Except on this occasion so Yay! 🙂

Hi, we are renovating our master ensuite in our 140 year old farm house. I was set on honed Bianco Carrara marble but have not been able to find a Canadian supplier. After viewing your site and online pics, I fell in love with the soft, creaminess of venato marble. Now I feel really confused and overwhelmed. If we were to order all the 3″x6″ subway tile for the shower wall and ceiling in honed venato honed, do you think it would look okay to order a countertop in honed Bianco Carrara marble as well as honed Bianco Carrara small basket weave with black square for the floor including the shower floor or should I stick with one type of marble for everything? I’m thinking I won’t be able to match the countertop to the venato so in this case I would order Bianco and am wondering if I’d be better off ordering all Bianco in the c grade. Is that the whiter grade?
Thank you in advance for your help!

    • Hello Angela,

Thank you for your message. The blog is a great place to start looking but you need to go to the ecommerce website. You can click on any product and there is next to “order samples” a button saying “shipping to Canada” and that then provides you stephen@thebuilderdepot.com email address.

We do ship to Canada but it is more complex with customs, which is a little annoying, but there we are. There are fees as someone has to pay for them and so on and product or goods is the only way to re-coup the cost (I suppose, I am not in charge of the Government so I am guessing). It would be best to email Stephen who is in charge of our Canadian shipments.

Please note. We are not designers at all. We work in the mining and quarrying of natural stone, that is quite different to design and aesthetics. So we dig it out, cut it into nice patterns and then people pick and choose.

But asking for colors or choices. We have no skills in the area. Apparently I cannot even dress my 4 year old daughter correctly, I am only guessing this as I pick out something but a few moments later she appears to be wearing something different 🙂

      Thank you

I love that combo showe mixer. Where can I purchase it?

    • Hi Gladys,

      Thank you for your message.

It is all from the Carrara Venato Collection.

The customer selected the 3×6″ Venato honed for the wall, then the pencil for the picture frame border and the 1×2″ Herringbone in the middle.

It is the fact that we stock over 2 million square feet of Carrara marble that allows us to select lots, to actually pick through, open boxes and check prior to shipping. We check to make sure that when the product goes together it is cohesive and looks as if it came from one block.

I do not know of any other company in the world that is quick as OCD over marble matching as we are, or even carry’s stock. The general model is buy from a retailer and they order from a distributor. At that point you and the retailer is at the mercy of a distributor who will not check boxes prior to shipping.

It is not an easy business and requires a lot more than dumbed down employees that simply ship (which seems to be the plan of big business today). It requires a skilled and committed family of staff who are proud of what they do and proud of the reviews that reflect that here.

      Thank you
      David

    Hi,

Do you mind sharing the grout color you all used for this design? Really like it!
