How are your products so cheap? (you need volume to hear)

 

We are asked this a lot and even if we are not it is in the back of peoples mind. That aged old classic “if it sounds too good to be true…….”

But it is true need more than a video and want to delve into how it all began, read “about us“.

But in Summary which is not as  short so I apologize 🙂

  1. We buy direct, hundreds of Ocean Containers and then sell direct, this skips three steps in the supply chain a supply chain that is 70 years+ old (it needed revamping).
  2. Volume create economies of scale.  We pass these savings onto our customers. 100%.
  3. No debt also means we are not paying the bank any money, again if you hold debt you pay interest. Interest is a cost. Costs can only be paid one way. Through the product’s price.  Which means the customer pays. All costs can only be paid one way. Through the product or service. If it is through the product it means that cost is coming to the consumer. In short you. if anyone knows of another way please let me know 🙂
  4. We have done everything we can do reduce this business to bare bones. So it focuses on product quality (quality control), shipping quality FAQ#18 (we shipped 99.4% of all orders in 1-2 business days with 99.6% accuracy) and price. Getting the quality as high as possible and price as low as possible. No business would operate like this but we are trying what started out as a “small” experiment to help consumers in a confusing industry that never seemed to show prices and seems to have grown and grown and now 2016 we are opening a five acre facility with fifteen loading docks. It has taken almost a decade doing this without debt, but now, now it is worth it. As we have over 2 million square feet of stock and 600 different products types of white marble alone. Today we receive reviews, great reviews and thank you’s from people saving thousands and thousands of dollars.

The end of 2015 – Thank you and Happy New Year

The end of an incredible year. Thank you to all our customers, I know it is not easy buying marble or products online. Many have concerns. But we have a great team and can send pictures before we ship.

The savings are great, maybe looks too good, we understand that as well. But it is simple economics and supply chain management (all explained in FAQ#3).

To all the 30,000 customers this year that took the plunge. Thank you! As we did not receive a single negative review and have a A+ BBB rating we did as we promised.  Without our customer the retailers, contractors and home owners we would not be here. We will strive to seek ways to find new products our customers buy and lower the prices by paying cash and improving the supply chain. We will continue to focus on never loosing site of doing more with less. So pictures will still be taken with just an iPhone in 2016.

We are looking forward to improving our website with a new website launch January 2016 and also we have now become a Google Trusted Store, which is what happens I suppose when you never have a bad review 😉

New website look coming along…. (but just a draft)

Cleaner Checkout

We are working on creating a new look for our website. Everything is the same just the look will be cleaner, trying to cover the fact that shipping is 100% guranteed safety. The black on our site will disappear. This is all part of the new 5 acre pick and pack complex that is being built for us in Alpharetta, GA. It is designed to work better with UPS Freight and improve efficiency.  The more efficient the more savings we can pass along or at the very least avoid any increases 🙂

 

BD_MeettheTeam_PROOFcThe site will be more transparent so you can see the people who you are talking to and the team of professional advisors with over 100 years of experience in our field that act as a sounding board ensuring that decisions are not made without careful thought and how they impact our customers.  While this was is classic bootstrap USA start up and does not have a penny of debt, it helps to never be the smartest guy in the room. Standing on the shoulders of Giants.

So do not be shocked one day you will see our black site then the next one that looks white.  It will be quite a contrast, but we are all into remodeling one way or another.

In the shower they chose Carrara Venato 3×6″ Honed for the walls with a 1×2″ Herringbone Picture frame (we have a choice of 24 Herringbone mosaics) around the shower unit using a 1×2″ Herringbone Honed inside that bordered with pencils.  A great look, nice and simple so elegant. With the 3×6″ costing just $7.00SF and the Herringbone $11.45SF and Pencil $9.95 Each the Venato collection with over 200 different products has something for everyone.  The trick with marble is what you are looking for and making sure before anything ships to you that the image you have in your mind matches what we are sending.  As we cannot read your mind – this is where we need to work together!

Let us help you. Include us in your plan, your look. We are here to help. If you are 100% OCD and nothing can be wrong “ever” then marble is probably not for you as every single tile has different veining and I would recommend a retailer that can Water Jet cut and pick through tiles to your specification (be prepared to part with $200 a Square Foot).  If you are 40% OCD and want a very specific look and people do this.  Then over order and pick through or email us.  Then we can discuss the costs involved in meeting your standards.  Some people are so specific, one customer for example needed 3,000SF of Nero Marquina, it needed white veining with no more than two white veins per tile and no thicker than 2mm.  We did it, but it was hugely expensive.  As you know, anything can be purchased, you can have any car you want, you just have to pay for it.

If you are like the rest of us and know that a Carrara bathroom can add $30,000 in equity to your home and yes, buying direct can save a fortune then you have found the right place.  We own the rights to this quarry, it is our product, it is exclusive trademarked brand and even then we do not mark it up like a regular company.  We keep the cost low.  We work with a no frills marketing strategy (so iPhone images and no marketing budget, word of mouth growth).  Operating on the lowest cost possible, (examining if anything can be improved all the time), investing everything into the quality of the product and keeping the price down.  We do this to the extreme, an example of this is our Brilliant Glass tile line, we do not even pay with terms (like everyone else), we pay with cash to keep the price as low as possible.  Cash is a great way to work it always ensures you are very well looked after.  As most businesses always need cash!  It also means you are not a debt risk to suppliers, you are therefore provided a better price, quicker shipping and better quality. This is then passed onto our customers. I know….. no debt, it is a strange concept (in a world of debt) but it is one of the ways we make this business work so well.  More of how we can do what we do is on our page of FAQ’s. #3 attempts to address the economics in more detail.

Not quite finished yet: Carrara Venato 3″ Hexagon Honed $11.75 a Square Foot used on this shower floor, customer order 16 sheets for this size area.  Always order 20% more, sometimes people order 30%, it depends what look you are trying to create.  Some customers take out Hexagon pieces and replace them.  Lay it out before installing. Create the perfect picture.  Then when finished please email us a picture.  All we see are boxes 😦
