July 2017 and Vento Gray Arabesque Matte Arrives.

It has almost been a year since the introduction of the Gloss Vento Gray. We have had the Matte finish in stock but we have been awaiting for our new warehouse to provide space so we can bring it here. That space is now here: Matte Finish of the Vento Gray Arabesque $10.95 a Square Foot (which is a sheet arrives). You can see against the printer white background it is just a few shades towards Gray than White which is exactly what we were looking to create.

The Matte Finish is a great feel. I love the smooth yet slight textured feel of it.

If you are tackling more than just a Backsplash consider that we have the largest choice of Nero Marquina in the USA. So you can add in borders and designs. Calacatta 2×4″ Honed just checked the price: $15.95 and Free Shipping (for 2016).

Calacatta is a particularly difficult stone with large variations. Do not assume anything. Do not assume a picture taken months ago will be representative of what is shipped today (it maybe that it is exactly like this), but why assume when you have an option to ask for a picture of the current lot?)

This is perfect Calacatta Gold. Not too busy, really white base. You could buy this open a retail shop put it on a display board and charge $50.00 a Square Foot and it would sell.

So many people do not understand the mechanics of the current archaic boutique Stone and Tile distribution process. It has been operating the same way in the USA for over half a decade with the cost of the product rising well above the cost of inflation and yet availability has remained the same, technology of extraction and fabrication have improved.  Have any of these savings been passed onto the consumer? Even in the dire times of 2009? No. Never. Not once! You can see the mountains of Carrara and the Tuscany region from the International Space Station.

So the excuse I hear in emails from retailers saying “real Italian Marble is no longer available” is absolute rubbish! Just go to Google Earth and show them the huge white mountains region of Carrara.

And moving in closer the quarries. So the next time a retailer tells you he cannot get Italian Marble anymore. That is not true. You can get premium ‘C’ grade. You just need to buy a awful lot of it in one go and have people on that side of the world. Which most retailers do not.
