Carrara Bianco 6×12″ Carrara Bianco 1×2″ Herringbone and 12″ Carrara Bulnose Pencil

Carrara Bianco 6×12″ Honed Marble Tile

Above shows an incredible bathroom using the Carrara Bianco Marble Collection.  I do not know if anyone has seen how much fake Carrara is on the market – basically ‘oriental white’ or ‘chinese statuary’ are some of the clever names for China white with some gray and brown.

With the Carrara Bianco collection we have selected only the best blocks of stone from Italy and cut them to create matching 3×6″, 6×12″, 12×12″ along with numerous mosaics and trims.  Herringbone (shown on top picture as a motif insert) is one of our most popular mosaics along with 5×12″ skirting, chair rail and bullnose pencil (what is used to border the Herringbone in the top picture).

There is no comparison between genuine Italaian Carrara and Chinese Oriental statuary.  Telling the difference – well that is fairly simple the Italian’s basically have a monolpoly on the raw material product.  This means selling genunie Italian Carrara marble mosaics for under $10SF a square foot is impossible for a company to do so and still make a profit.  So if you see product on EBay labeled ‘Carrara’  for example ‘Carrara Basketweave’ and the price is $8.95SF including free shipping – this is not no matter what you are told Carrara from Italy and by the way if it is not from Italy then it is not Carrara as the product is called Carrara after the region it came from in Italy.

The Builder Depot Carrara Bianco Herringbone, Carrara 6×12″ Bianco Tile & Carrara Bianco Pencil shown on DIY network I hate my Bath episode ‘Back to the Past’ (Watch our Herringbone part starts at 7.15 mins into the program for those looking to skip. It used to be on the DIY Network now Amazon has it. We are Episode #2)

It was a excellent showcase of our Carrara Bianco collection on the ‘I hate my Bath’ DIY network TV show.  The company that produces the show Magnetic productions ordered from us 190SF of 6×12″ Carrara Bianco Honed, 60SF of 1×2″ Herringbone Honed and 30FT of Carrara Bianco pencil trim honed.

In the show they create a huge show enclosure.  The Carrara Herringbone is a motif on the wall where the shower heads are down to where you can turn the shower on and off.  This Herringbone picture is framed with the pencil trim.  then around the entire wall is the Carrara Bianco 6×12″ tiles.

You get to see many close ups of the product and especially how white the grade ‘C’ Carrara is and how the distinct Carrara veining transforms the shower.

I Hate my Bath – HGTV Show – Episode Called “Back to the Past”

According to Magnetic Productions the producers that creates many of the HGTV shows including I Hate my Bath – The Builder Depot will be showing Carrara Bianco 6×12″ Honed along with Carrara Bianco 1×2″ Herringbone honed and trims on the second episode which is airing next Tuesday, September 20th at 10:30 pm Eastern/9:30 pm Central time on the DIY Network. The episode title is “Back to the Past.”

According to DIY networks website (on the 15th September):

“With the help of licensed contractor and host of I Hate My Bath Jeff Devlin, Noel and Kassina are renovating the master bath in their 1900s “city cabin.” From the funky layout to gaudy tiling and wallpaper, this bathroom needs a total gut job. With vintage lumber, old street pavers and repurposed plumbing, this bath is transformed into the perfect rustic retreat.”

We are all very excited and will be watching – please let us know what you think.
